I hope all of you are well! I wanted to personally extend an invitation to all of you to join us during the 10am Sunday Service for Breakout Sunday School. I thought maybe I would explain a little bit about how this will work.  Much like in person church before COVID, Sunday School would begin directly after the Children’s Story. There are obvious differences with this breakout room, however (I’ll explain those as we go along here). Below I will explain what the breakout room is and how it works.  Ms. Katy will be actively looking for families who are in attendance at the 10am service. After the Children’s Story, Ms. Katy will invite the families that she sees to join the breakout room. A message will appear on your screen (similar to being asked by the host if you would like to unmute or stay muted). This is where you would choose to join the breakout room. The breakout room is basically an extension of the Zoom service. The difference is that the kids will not be present during the later parts of the Zoom church service. Instead, they will be in a Sunday School setting in the breakout room.  A parent will need to be present with each family during the breakout room. Ms. Shirley or another guest will be with me as the message is delivered to the kids. The plan is to talk about how things have been going with the kids (how are they feeling, how is school going, what is challenging you, what victory(ies) have you experienced since we last spoke, how can we help, etc. We will also talk about the Gospel and play a game/do an activity. Any time we do an activity of some sort, you will know in advance. I will explain any activities that we would be doing that week. You will likely have all of the items we would use somewhere in your homes (scissors, paper, glue, markers/crayons/colored pencils, writing utensils, etc.).  As a parent with a full time job and three younger kids, I understand the stresses of an additional activity. I understand the pile up of working, making meals, raising kids, being a teacher for the kids, shopping, and so much more that we all have to do day in and day out. I also understand that the kids must be exhausted with their daily Zooms or in person learning. These are crazy times for all of us! I just want to make sure that all of you know that I am here for you and your kids! I want nothing more than to help all of you with whatever I can!
